As I was reading Mark 16:20 "they preached everywhere while the Lord worked with them.... I'm sure glad that Jesus is still working with me, cause I'm not finished, I have so much to learn.

As I was reading this morning in Matthew 28:11-15, I was wondering as Matthew was a tax collector in his life prior to becoming a disciple of Christ, did he have insider information about the report of the guard? Thoughts?

(Being one of the synoptic Gospels, why was he the only one to tell that part of the story?)

To respond to your post about Matt 28:11-15, Good thought, Mike. Being a money man, he probably noticed those types of details. I remember Michael Card who studied John extensively, said that John was written many years later, so purposely left out things that the other authors had included. Matthew wrote for the Christian Jews, so maybe this info was more interesting to those in Jerusalem, rather than to Mark who wrote for the Roman Christians.

I posted this on FB today. While we are waiting, some times are very disruptive and others are smooth sailing. #Trust #Peace #Hope John 14:3 (NLT) When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.

“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other...” What does that look like in your life?

For me, it means to take time to reach out to others. I find it easy to focus on my own agendas and busyness, but I need to put that aside from time to time and reach out to others to encourage them.

Yes, this is an important scripture! Love one another! Love shows who we are as followers of Christ! This means to me to extend yourself to someone sometimes when it’s an inconvenience to you! Think beyond your own comfort and think of the other person. Especially right now, reach out to someone you don’t speak to everyday to ask if they’re ok, if they need anything and to share a comforting word of scripture.
